St. John’s Fall Festival and Parish Picnic is set this year for Saturday, October 17th from 12:30 to 4:30 pm (meal service until 4 pm). This is a great day for kids, parents and parishoners, so please come out and join us! There will be plenty of things to do, including fun festival games and prizes, inflatables, a $500 raffle, and an Oktoberfest meal. TIckets will be on sale after Masses on October 3/4 and October 10/11, as well as through the school. Please contact Betsy Lashley at blashley@knology.net if you would like to volunteer or donate prizes to the festival.
As the colder weather creeps in and the need for long sleeves, pants and jackets emerge, you may find that your child has outgrown some necessities. Gather those outgrown items and make your lists to shop the Fall Used Uniform Sale. For this sale, we will offer early shopping around the PTO meeting. The sale will be open before and after the meeting, but WILL CLOSE DURING the PTO meeting. Drop-off gently used items on Monday, October 19th from 7:30 – 1:30. Early shopping from 5:30 – 6:30 Monday evening and resuming after the meeting until 8:30. Shop again on Tuesday from 7:30 – 1:30. Please see the enclosed flyer for detailed information and instructions for donating and consigning. Inventory sheets for consigners can be found on this website under the “Events” Heading on the left-hand side of the website. As we begin to prepare for the new school year, please be patient as we update our PTO web page for the upcoming 2009/10 year. The new board members are listed under “CONTACT” and you are welcome to email or call a board member if you have a question. The PTO will also be available during “BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT” on Friday August 7th to answer any questions, and do volunteer sign up! We look forward to seeing you!

Landscape Workday: Saturday August 1st from 7:30am to 10 am. Help is needed…and appreciated!!
Please join us for the next PTO meeting of the school year on Monday, September 14th in the cafeteria at 6:30pm. Babysitting will be provided in the youth room. Tentative items on the agenda are to include: 1) Discussion and approval of the 2009/10 PTO budget, and 2) Overview of the SCRIP program at St. John’s. Please look for a copy of the meeting’s agenda to be posted here approximately one week prior to the meeting.
